Setup Email in Outlook Express and Outlook 2002?

The following tutorial is provided as a courtesy to our customers to help you configure your mail software to work with Magical Productions' hosting solutions.

  1. Open Outlook or Outlook Express.
  2. Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts...
  3. Click Add and then click Mail...

  4. Enter your name in the Display name: field, and click Next.

  5. Enter your full email address username@yourdomain.com in the E-mail address: field and Click Next.

  6. Choose IMAP or POP as your incoming server type. Which should I choose? Enter mail.yourdomain.com in the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field.
    Enter mail.yourdomain.com in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field.

  7. Enter your username username@yourdomain.com in the Account name field. Enter your email password in the Password field, and click Next.

  8. As for the Import screen: if you do not want to import information click Do not import at this time and click Next.

  9. Click on Finish. You MUST do the next steps to be able to send email via your server.

  10. Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts...

  11. Highlight mail.yourdomain.com under Account, and click Properties.

  12. Click the Servers tab, and check the box next to My server requires authentication. Then click on the Settings button.

  13. Verify the Login Information is set to use same settings as my incoming mail server then click OK.

  14. Click on the Advanced tab. In the Outgoing server (SMTP) field change the default setting (25) to 587. Click OK

  15. Click OK for the properties window now. You are all set!
